Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 July 2026

This policy explains what Sipstars collects, why, and what you can do about it. Sipstars is a wine aroma game available at sipstars.com.

The short version. We collect the minimum needed to run the game: your name and email if you sign in, the wines you save, and your scores. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.

Who is responsible for your data

Sipstars is operated by the owner of sipstars.com. For any question about this policy, or to request access to or deletion of your data, write to bobova.darya@gmail.com.

What we collect

If you sign in with Google: your email address, your display name, and your profile picture. We receive these from Google only after you approve the sign-in.

If you play as a guest: only the display name you type. No email, no account.

While you play: the wines you add to your cellar, your tasting notes and favourites, your scores, and the tasting rooms you join.

If you scan a bottle: the photo is sent for text recognition so we can read the label. The image is processed to extract text and is not stored by us afterwards.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, or your browsing activity on other sites.

How we use Google user data

Data received from Google is used solely to create and operate your Sipstars account: to identify you when you return, to show your name and picture in tasting rooms, and to attach your wine cellar to you. Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Sipstars' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Why we are allowed to process it

We process your data to provide the service you asked for, and, where relevant, on the basis of your consent, which you give by signing in and can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.

Who else is involved

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your account and cellar are kept for as long as your account exists. Tasting room data is short-lived. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, write to bobova.darya@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Storage on your device

Sipstars stores a small amount of information in your browser: your sign-in session, and, if you play as a guest, the display name you chose and an anonymous identifier so your score is counted correctly during a tasting. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Sipstars is about wine and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
